The Wilderness Farm Project - Permaculture Garden
West Sussex
Project duration: Ongoing since 2023
This project is an on-going initiative with a varied team of creators, each helping the project in their own sector, to create a vibrant experience that can host workshops and other events.
My involvement included setting up and conceptualising the market garden, using No Gir Permaculture principles and food forest styles of growing, with a view for Wilderness to be able to sell produce from their farm. I’ve also installed a shiitake mushroom growing installation in the woods. The idea is that these areas can be utilised for workshops, events and retreats in the future, to showcase and teach about the many different ways we can grow food.
So far, I’ve been working there for 18 months on and off and have hosted a number of workshops on permaculture growing and mushroom farming. It’s a fantastic space and a great team that work there!
The work on this project continues to develop and thrive, with a view to grow Mediterranean vegetables and tropical plants in the greenhouse, where we will host farm-to-table dinners.
This project is an on-going work in progress.
